Experiencing synesthesia: a podcast interview
3 strangers.
1 condition in common.
This condition involves senses bleeding together and overlapping in complex ways that most of us might have trouble even imagining. This podcast episode hi-lights “synesthesia”, a neurological condition in which information meant to stimulate one sense, actually stimulates several senses at once. Think ‘seeing’ notes of your favorite symphony, your brain assigning colors to a blend of coffee, or even assigning personalities to days of the week. Through pure chance, these 3 interviewees were discovered and selected to take part in a conversation that is truly unique. Questions are addressed, such as
how long have you known you experience things different than those around you?
how does synesthesia affect you creatively?
what do you see/feel/taste that you’ve found to be unique to those with your condition?
how do each of you have experiences with synesthesia that might differ from those of other synesthete?
can pieces of furniture have personalties, and how does that tie into synesthesia?
