The Joplin Toad is currently working toward nonprofit status. In the meanwhile, we function as an LLC and are funded through sponsorships (advertising), magazine/merchandise purchases, and donations. We are entirely volunteer run. Here’s how you can help….
Advertising. Currently we offer sponsorships through our magazine, which prints 2-3X a year; we have custom designed ad options and $100 back cover logo placement options for local businesses. We also plan to expand business sponsoring opportunities soon via podcast and other platforms.
Buy our stuff. Go to our online store anytime to order magazine issues as well as some of our other goodies like tee-shirts, stickers, and more. You can also grab copies of the mag at local sales locations (Bearded Lady, Joplin Ave, Zinc, Greenhouse, Chaos, Spiva, or Empire Market), OR find us at local events like Empire Market, Hyped Market, and Third Thursday.

With 16K+ unique visitors to the website to date, 2K+ followers on Facebook and Instagram, and 6 printed issues under our belt, The Joplin Toad has grown into a recognized and beloved presence in the Joplin Missouri community.
The toad has built its’ presence with very limited advertising, fueled by a passion for the community and for quality presentation. We are now working with sponsors to create fun, customized ads for approved partners.
We care deeply about Joplin, about our artists and contributors, and about our brand. That means we also care about how we handle advertising. The advertising opportunities are set up by us to support our mission- rather than our magazine existing to get advertising money.
