Welcome to Issue 3.5
The Halloween Issue
The Joplin Toad is proud to introduce our (surprise) Halloween issue.
We have 3 main sections: photos, illustrations, and stories- along with a new edition of the Haunted toad podcast, a ghostly song from Joplins’ own Granger, and a set of Halloween themed haikus. We think you’ll enjoy this oh-so-spooky collection of local artistry centered around haunted Joplin!

Spooky Stories
whether you want a laugh or a good scare, we got you covered.
In the beautiful spirit of collaboration, we asked local authors to give us their best spooky stories- then we gave those stories to local artists to illustrate. From the playful kids tale “the cursed donut” to the genuinely creepy “The Attic”, we got an incredible range of brand new writings, most of them never-before-published.
Check out the quick descriptions to see which one fits your mood the best… then come back and finish them out as your mood shifts creepier throughout this halloween day.
