In these days… these strange pandemic days… we combat the heat of summer and the germs of the big ‘Rona, when really only pool-time or air conditioning can beat the heat. In these mad and heavy times we take a break for something light, to take us all back to our childhood. We offer you something to combat the mundane. An activity done INSIDE your own home, with profits possible:
THAT’S A $50 REWARD TO WHOMEVER WINS, doled out in gift cards to the local business(es) of your choice.
Show us your building skills with whatever you can find in your house; pillows, blankets, chairs, cardboard, mattresses, Christmas lights, that pile of laundry over there, and maybe even a toilet paper wall.
Complete a fort and tag us in an image on Instagram or Facebook, and use the hashtag #joplintoadfort. Send your entry images to joplintoad@gmail.com to be sure to be entered in the contest.photos from your phone work just fine.
We will be giving away a prize to whomever builds the best, most toad worthy fort.

LET’S DO THIS THING
We will be judging on:
-Creativity- this goes toward more points than any other factor. How much imagination is fused into this fort? Does it feel like it could have been designed in a Spielberg movie featuring a ragtag gang of kiddos?
-Use of household supplies (blankets, pillows, furniture, brooms, clothes-pins, whip cream, etc etc etc)
-structural integrity (will it hold up to an unexpected stuffed animal attack?)
-theme (is it JUST a blanket fort? or is it paying tribute to _______?
-design (how much thought and time went into this thing? would you live in it?)
Extra points:
-Where’s Nicholas Cage? Hide an image of Nicholas Cage somewhere in your fort where we can find it.
That’s all we’ve got. YOU’VE got from now through next Wednesday, July 1st, to build and photograph your fort for entry into the contest; we’ll announce winners on or before July 4th.
