Leanna Harrison

photographer, winter art section

Creating/showcasing art is creating community, and though new to Joplin, I feel blessed to be a part of this community. In my life I don’t take anything too seriously with art being the exception. For as long as I can remember I loved seeing and creating art. I feel closer to God when I am inspired, and when I create. I feel passionate about fighting for the arts and try to encourage people to create. However, it oftentimes comes down to each individual to push past that internal critic in order to create. I am thankful for my family, community, and friends for giving me a safe space in order to quiet and push past my internal critic.
