The Joplin Toad is an intergalactic Joplin Missouri platform.
The toad exists to celebrate and encourage local artists- and to bring something quirky and beautiful to the Southwest Missouri region. Thanks to tremendous local support and a passionate team of volunteers, it is growing all the time. We feature regular online content, local art exhibits, tiny books via “tiny toad press,” and a printed indie magazine. It’s all BY and FOR the strange and creative people of a little city in the center of the United States called Joplin, Missouri.

Not a story. A person.”

The Joplin Toad is an independently run online magazine, released quarterly and centered around the city of Joplin Missouri.
We’re out to create a new kind of community based publication, providing Joplincentric entertainment in the form of top-notch interviews, journalism, history, humor pieces, art, photography, reviews, and other forms of quirky and creative collaboration. We hope you enjoy issue 1.
We have a goal to publish the work of 3 wonderful poets/authors in 2024, giving each of them their own Tiny Toad Press book (click here or here to see our previously published Tiny Toad Press books).
But, the reality is, we're a small operation with limited funds. The only way we can publish these three books is if we hit our pre-order goal of 35 before March 15.
The three books, by publication date, are:
April 1: A Life, Framed by Toads by Chad Woody
July 1: Rhamnusia by Alek Miller
October 1: Poems for When You’re Falling by Myranda Burton
We couldn’t do this without you. Thank you for supporting the arts in our community!
Please note: You will be charged immediately. Books will ship on the publication date above. If we fail to reach our pre-order goal we will be sad. But, we will also refund your payment.
